Duffy and McGovern select inspHire Rental Management Solution
1st Nov 2006
Duffy & McGovern select inspHire rental management package.
Duffy and McGovern, providers of specialist accommodation units for hire to the global offshore industry, had been using several systems including Excel for the control and billing of their huge global fleet but had identified the need for a more consolidated system; one that at the touch of a button, would give them instant access to information that was previously only available from combining data from several sources.
Duffy and McGovern researched the market for an alternative asset management system and amongst others contacted inspHire.
It was clear to Duffy and McGovern at the first demonstration of inspHire that the software and the company itself ticked all their boxes, and actually exceeded their expectations. The inspHire Corporate Edition chosen by Duffy and McGovern offered a solution that whilst tracking and billing their global fleet gave the company the instant critical business analysis reports that they required. At the sharp end of the business, inspHire was also able to save much time simply by providing documentation, required by the industry, including Health and Safety certification that could be printed out with the standard customer documentation.
The inspHire Web Portal, a key module of the inspHire Corporate Edition offered Duffy and McGovern the facility of providing its customers with direct access to their own account information on line, 24/7. To Duffy this meant that customers could review the assets they had on hire, check previous tests, floor plans, operating instructions and other information that under normal circumstances would be sent to the customer and often lost or misplaced.
Graham Dobbs, inspHire Sales Director said “We have enjoyed a great deal of success in the Oil, Gas and offshore industry. inspHire has been proactive in the development of our product in order to meet the high demands and levels of efficiency required in this sector. We are proud to be associated with a first class company like Duffy and McGovern who are well respected within the industry”.
Hydrex select inspHire Rental Management Solution

Hydrex take inspHire on Board
inspHire is pleased to announce Hydrex Equipment Ltd as an addition to our expanding client base.
With a fleet totalling over 1200 machines, Hydrex is one of the largest suppliers of outsourced mobile plant solutions in the UK providing machines and support services to the waste management, aggregates and rail services industries.
After working with the same rental management system for six years, Hydrex began their search for a replacement solution. Andrew Wood, Financial Director at Hydrex said “Our old system was simply out-of-date, it wasn’t Windows-based and it was extremely difficult to extract basic management information, with the result that we had to build additional reporting systems outside the core plant rental system.”
As well as focussing primarily on plant rental functionality the selected system was required to: handle many different ways of hiring both operated and self-drive machines; run on an SQL-server base; provide complete integration into an established accounting product and demonstrate mature and proven development from an established and robust organisation.
“inspHire quite simply fulfilled all our selection criteria.”
Andrew Wood, Financial Director, Hydrex
Graham Dobbs, Sales Director at inspHire responded by saying “Hydrex is a very well respected company within the rental industry and have earned a reputation for quality and service. Currently listed in the International Rental News Top 100 companies and with a client list that reads like a who’s who, inspHire are extremely pleased to be the only supplier able to meet their requirements for a single integrated solution encompassing their Rental, Sales, Workshop and Transport Logistics operations. Hydrex is an extremely important addition to our expanding portfolio of customers not just because of their corporate reputation but because we have delivered a system that meets their expectations and high standards”.

As the only Rental Management Software Solution Provider to be a member of IPAF we have been actively working with them to improve business processes utilising inspHire to meet IPAF Rental+ accreditation requirements.
inspHire has many years of experience within the access rental market; since 1998 inspHire has been implemented in over 25 different access rental companies helping them overcome some of the daily operational difficulties they face. Other key IPAF initiatives like logging handover and familiarisation details, pre delivery inspections and maintenance scheduling are important aspects of a business and automating many of these processes will assist with the smooth and efficient running of a busy access rental company."
IPAF Managing Director Tim Whiteman said "We are pleased to partner inspHire in offering our members this discount for rental software. This is a strong addition to our increasing portfolio of member services and will be very useful for our rental members."
Since their formation in 1983 IPAF has been responsible for many of the safety initiatives, which govern platform operation, and have been key players in the formation of relevant European legislation. Operating as a ‘not for profit’ organisation for manufacturers, distributors, hirers and owners of powered access equipment IPAF has seen tremendous growth both in terms of membership and individuals trained. Over 50,000 operators per year have been trained worldwide in the safe and productive use of modern platforms.
